Set up sacred spacetime, then be quiet, and allow

Quiet TimeImage by Delphine devos via Flickr
Keep situation shamanization simple if you want to! Here is one simple way, but this is an example only, just a suggestion.

This is a favorite way I connect and re-connect re-creatively and co-creatively with Spirit and Spirits and become a magical bridge between non-ordinary and ordinary reality for one to several periods each day. But this is a favorite way among many favorites.

Portable music or video is another quick way to shamanic shift consciousness that works well for a few folks I know. There must be as many simple ways - from weird to pedestrian - to shamanic shift quickly as there are shamanizers available to Spirit and Spirits in any given moment for helping shamanic shift this world into healing mode. Another shamanic shifter I know recommends choosing a photo as a shamanic imagining or shamanic journeying portal portal.

Set up sacred spacetime by your quickest and simplest preferred method, then just BE QUIET within it, then spend several moments or a little while (no set amount of ordinary-reality, 3-D time) simply allowing - ecstatically allowing. Allow everything and everybody else to BE OK - no matter what, really - for a little while or a few moments.

The practice of 'blessing no matter what' helps me activate, attentive allowing. Pretending also works very well.

Then, after a while of ecstatic allowing, begin allowing dreams of shamanic shapeshifts towards better as you imagine it (and best, when you can imagine it) to be given by Spirit and Spirits. Stay until you have one or a list of shamanic shifts for everyday situation shamanization.

Then return to ordinary-reality and into whatever situations, challenges, and troubles are at hand and activate the easiest shamanic shift first as you continue your way through your day and your world. Then activate the next easiest shamanic shift, then the next, and on down your given shamanic shifting list as your present unfolds - and your shamanic Presence deepens. Or choose the hardest shamanic shift first, or begin in the middle of the list - your choice, of course.

If you are given only one shamanic shift to activate, spend the whole rest of the day on it. Or activate your one and only shamanic shift and repeat this practice to go back to Spirit and Spirits for more whenever you are ready.

Setting up sacred spacetime is necessary because of the opening, allowing, and receiving that happens in shamanic states of consciousnes. It is just as important to return to ordinary reality and ordinary consciousness afterwards, so as to avoid walking around in this commotion-happy world in a hypersuggestible state, taking in every confusing pattern that arises before you. I return to ordinary-reality consciousness by stamping my left and then my right foot, either forcefully or demurely, depending upon my circumstances.

I usually carry a 'circle-center' stone that fits in my palm and pocket easily, that I set-aside and consecrated for this purpose. No matter what is happening I almost always find that I can pause and imagine sacred circle spacetime spiraling up and uncoiling an interdimensional shamanic sanctuary around it and me, based upon a room-sized ordinary-reality sanctuary I know.

I have been reading all kinds of shamanic webpages and appreciating every one of them. Lately - thank Spirit and Spirits - I am encountering less complicated fuss and fewer dogmatic dictates around shamanic methods and techniques as I shamanic journey the WWW (occasionally).

Yes, fuss and dogma can teach and entertain, and many important points are expressed. But all too often fuss and dogma discourage instead of encouraging more daily shamanizing - or stir up overheated arguing, which entertains a few and discourages many more.

In my opinion this world needs much more everyday intentional situation shamanization. So 'go for it' now even in the simplest way. ~ Teal

Get a gist of if not a grip on Chaos!

Wake Vortex Study at Wallops IslandImage via WikipediChaos is crucial to shamanizing. Chaos means many things - from the all-mysterious primordial chaos to the lately more familiar fractal illustrated mathematical and scientific chaos theory. Shamanic shifters count on the wondrous effects of all kinds of chaos to be and bring up loopholes for shamanic (intentional) re-creating.

I just found this easy entertaining online Chaos Primer 'for everyone' with links to more information. Then I found another Beginner's Guide to Chaos which contrasts with this Non-Beginner's Chaos hypertextbook.

As a shamanic practice I renew my awareness of chaos at least once a day. I may never get a grip on Chaos or even on Chaos Theory but I can keep reactivating, deepening, and expanding my shamanic 'gist' of Chaos.

Keep shamanic shifting towards better and best!

October On Shamanic Shift Center's Block

Greetings from Elizabeth: Here is a photo I took yesterday around 5PM on the 900 block of East Knapp Street, Milwaukee WI, around the corner from Shamanic Shift Center. The Red Maples lost almost all their leaves last week. Now we have orange and green Maple leaves blending into Citrine afternoons and dusks!

"The dancer's body is simply the luminous manifestation of the soul.

--Isadora Duncan

Greetings from Elizabeth to Anyone! I was soaring with this video...but I was doing an Isadora Duncan imitation, for shamanic fun.

At first it surprised me that the 12/8-4/4 polyrhythmic drumming, E Minor flute-song, and natural, majestic, serene scenery of this video started me soaring with Isadora instead of an Eagle....

The 'Imitation of Anyone' can be a fun re-creative spiritual exercise!

Greetings from Elizabeth!

What are your views on happiness or the pursuit of happiness?

Visit the title-link to answer at Wisdomology or comment here...just for fun. BTW and FYI, Wisdomology is a social network - and web sanctuary and heated debate free zone - for wisdom lovers and sharers.

So far, a pretty Wisdomology presence is free and ad-free. The place is clearly a labor of love.

Wisdomology is populated with friendly, caring, creative, throughtful, open-minded (and open-hearted) folks. One does need a high-speed internet connection and newer version of Flash to make optimum use of the site.

"I do not want to get to the end of my life and find that I just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well."

Diane AckermanImage by kkfea via Flickr --- Diane Ackerman

Hello from Sharan: Have you read any of naturalist and poet Diane Ackerman's books? She is one of my favorite contemporary authors.

To read in a more eco-friendly way, I borrow and lend or swap books - or go paperless. But I don't know which is less harmful - paper or electronic books. I understand that computers harm the environment and I suppose the new portable eBook readers do too.

Living in eco-friendliness seems harder and harder and I re-focus on just doing the best I can, day by day. I ask for guidance from Spirit whenever I have a question, then do the next 'best' action as I understand it, then ask again.

What products or services can we buy without harming?

Service-Goods continuumImage via WikipediaResearch project: Does anyone have a product or service recommendation centered upon eco-friendliness? If consuming a product or purchasing a service does no harm, or even helps make the world a better place I would like to know about it and recommend it here!

This question covers all categories of products and services - food, drink, home and garden, technology, travel, education, and more. What is being sold that is support-worthy? How do you vote with your purse or wallet...or spare change?

Comment in any products or services that available in the marketplace for purchase in the USA or over the internet (or other locations perhaps) that you find acceptable or commendable from an eco-spiritual perspective! Please include a few details such as brand name, where to find or buy, approximate price, link (if any), and why the product or service is more harmless than usual or crosses the line into the territory of 'helpful' or is otherwise consumer support-worthy.

Eco- (for ecology) and economy come from the same Greek word that meant 'household' or 'dwelling place' or 'habitat' - so this question and wondering centers around everyday shamanic-action for keeping our house in order.

Thanks!

Attention! Most of our food is from factory farms!

see filenameImage via Wikipedia OK, I have stated this before: I am not a vegetarian though I eat meat less than most who do. Several shamanic animal companions are omnivores or carnivores. My health is better if I can eat a bit of what my animal companions would eat in ordinary reality, or bites of similar foods, and eat true to my own evolved omivorous nature.

I consider vegetarianism to be an honorable dietary strategy, for sure which can be perfectly healthy. But also I hold to the notion that hunting and killing to eat is natural and honorable and healthy also, as along as every being has a fair, fighting chance.

I am not so sure if cultivating and domesticating or harvesting and slaughtering to eat is natural. But those ways of growing and obtaining food can be honorable too - if the animals and plants to be slaughtered or harvested are allowed to live true to their natures in a caring, balanced environment, such as a family farm.

On this planet and probably in this universe everyone eats somebody - and sombody's relatives too - no matter what 'kind-of-vores' we each are by nature or by choice.

But farm-produced groceries in this country are nowadays mostly dishonorable food choices because of factory-farming. It is so easy to allow myself to be fooled by the catch-phrase labeling or the impersonality of the wrappings! Read more about this here at HSUS.

Still wondering,

Be aware of asymmetry - or beware!

Shadows Of The PastImage by Garry' via Flickr
Nobel Prize in Physics: The Nobel Prize website's press release gives a summary and their background article (in PDF) tells more of the big story of asymmetry's key role in the way of all beings, places, events, situations, and things in this universe.

Particular and universal asymmetry is always opening up new shamanic dreaming and shifting possibilites too. Non-ordinary reality is like ordinary-reality but in vaster, deeper ways.

Forgetting about original fundamental asymmetry - or even accidental, momentary asymmetry - is unwise (IMO). When I forget about essential asymmetry in ordinary-reality I lose my sense of FUN and become unable to play with Trickster.

On shamanic journeys and in all situation shamanization from now on I shall bring a token of this current event as a reminder to keep renewing my awareness asymmetry in reality and how -even when shadowy or hidden - asymmetry allows Spirit to co- and re-create even more marvelously.

What token of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physics will I be bringing along? Now I am going to make one up - a tiny, extremely portable one.

Self-educate and shamanize accordingly!

Here I am, Crabbee the Curmudgeon. I am beginning a new phase of blogging here instead of on a blog of my own. I will keep that blog as a reference and post updates here.

I suppose many have seen this video but I first watched it today. Here are some other self-educational www resources I found today. (That is what I was searching for.)

I do not feel educated enough yet to blog much so I will blog just a little. When I shamanize my knowledge shortcomings are compensated for by Spirit.

But I am advised by helping Spirits to keep up lifelong learning in ordinary-reality, a little each day, anyway. Continuing self-education helps me ask better questions, form more focused intentions, and interpret shamanic dreams and journeys more profoundly.

Health knowledge helpful to shamanizers collects at Geek's blog

Chemical structure of Caffeine.Image via WikipediaOne of my opinions about ordinary-reality science and new shamanics:

It is necessary for contemporary shamanizers to maintain scientific literacy and keep deepening their understanding of physical, ordinary, reality through studying modern and frontier sciences and technologies through continual questioning and further questing. I recommend studying alternative and para-science also, but with through a healthy balance of skepticism and openness, not automatic belief in popular and common misconceptions based upon junk science.

The original shamans were probably the most advanced and advancing natural scientists around whenever and wherever they lived, as well as being the leading edge philosophers and artists. An modern-day 'old-fashioned' (rather than Medieval) general education in the liberal arts and sciences can give Spirit and Spirits many more flows and patterns for our further shamanic imagining and dreaming of reality shifts towards better and better.

This 'Geek-blogger's' archive of articles under the 'Health' category will grow, I hope! So far he has collected an impressive amount of self-education.

Shamanic powers can lead to authoritarian hierarchy

Depiction of the Trinity on the portal of the ...Image via Wikipedia
By Teal

My questioning of my shamanic practicing in this world even though I have withdrawn to a back road:

Contemporary shamanic ways might be some of the best ways to open up non-ordinary dimensions within modern western society and bypass humankind's (probably at least partially genetically inherited) persisting predisposition to seek and bow-down to higher authorities and keep developing more organized hierarchical religious (and all kinds of) institutions. Many new shamanic teachers are presenting direct individual experience of Spirit and Spirits through shamanic ways as accessible to practically everyone.

Yet I often notice contemporary shamans and shamanizers linking their shamanic teachings and practices to one or more indigenous tribal shamans and shamanisms in order to credential themselves and gain credibility. It seems to be an acceptable thing to seek or imply and then advertise endorsements from shamanic authority figures even if those shaman-experts really have no specific or direct authority over new shamanic practitioners - which is a good thing - so that, so far, for the most part, new shamanic ways do not necessarily or often directly promote more of the same dis-empowering authoritarian hierarchical spiritual traditions and religions that have captured, enclosed, and deformed the human spirit(s) throughout human history and long before we started recording our histories.

But it seems to me that intention-confounding mystification is inherent within this wonderful new enthusiastic mystical magical movement - in which I still participate in my hermitic way, from a distance - to restore enchantment and connections to the non-ordinary dimensions to everyday western- and northern-hemispheric earth life through re-discovered and renewed shamanic ways. So I keep on pondering this paradoxical unfolding situation in mind and heart, allowing cautionary notes to play on and resonate around my heart and gut these days over my nagging concerns.

Good question - Which technologies do you resist?

FerropolisImage by : : deNNis gErbECkx : : via FlickrMaybe...this is a good self-development blog to explore further. Here is the post that drew my attention there.

10 Technologies I Resist

I and several of our original circle companions resist most of these listed in this blog, too. But I have indulged and encouraged others to indulge - and perhaps over-indulge - in social networking, at least as far as signing up and putting up a profile...or presence...or portal goes. And I lean towards Office 2.0 because the WWW is where I began processing words...and photos and numbers and any kind of business.

I would rather mobilize my laptop with a wireless internet connection than make do with a PDA or mobile email because my first computer is this laptop. Up until 2002 I resisted computers and the internet altogether! Now I use cell-phones instead of a landline but I finally hooked up a fax machine at the office.

So far all of the other original circle companions have resisted (or gone back to resisting) owning PDAs and cell-phones - and a few even resist landline phones too. Most have or share access to an internet-connected computer, however.

None of us text-message or IM though we now and then set up 'secret chat-nodes' for special purposes. We connect through inner shamanic technology and overuse of outer ordinary technology might cause more dream-net outages.

I and several of the original circle companions started resisting regular automobile use a while ago too. So of course we can still easily resist GPS devices. Ha ha...when I do rent a car for necessary business I don't even use the cruise-control!

For me hardly any of this feels like resisting and I suspect this is true for some or all of my colleagues too. When a technology looks like it could help me fulfill a purpose, then usually I go for it. Otherwise I just read about it and file the information for later.

Ordinary-reality shifting through traffic waves

Wow! This link leads to a wonderful example of ordinary-reality shamanic shifting - even though this shifter would probably never call this activity 'shamanic' - because these everyday actions show effective on purpose shifting of energy-flow patterns toward better and best using one's self in the here/now moment as the way, or literally, as the vehicle for bringing beneficial change to the community and the world! I hope to share more examples of ordinary-reality 'shamanic shifting' and 'situation shamanization' as helpful as this soon.

Dreaming shamanizing supersymetry

Copper carving (XVIIIth century) showing a sam...Image via Wikipedia Again in my dreamings the real Shamantic! The Wise (who never does claim to be wise BTW, who goes by that fun 'Spirit-given' sacred name) spoke sayings similar to these paragraphs in a series of sudden confusing flashes:

"In shamanic experiencing everything is one begun but unending arms-full of ongoing actioning(s) arrayed before me or you for bit by bit grasping and shifting - rattlings, drummings, singings, dancings - as the web, as the tree(s), at the crossroads, one unified re-unified chaotic disorder ever synergizing all order and disorder in and as a vibrating uncoiling of uncoilings and an original openly complete supersymetry of supersymetries in LIFE's singular eclectic cross-sectioning self-replicating without ever duplicating perfectly imperfect ongoing bottom to top top to bottom All-Synthesis. Through shamanic intention and attention I journey mystery-pulled and spirit-nudged through any or many non-ordinary layers of the FUN OF IT ALL noticing waving bits of potential and possibility spiral-flying nearby, gravitating towards me but never falling right to me except once in a while. THEN I CHOOSE to choose one particular waving bit out of this wider present how-to can-do super-sub-view that is being show-given to me especially for shamanizing around the intention I am attending to.

Each shamanic adventuring and returning is like this only different by and through Spirits in Spirit, thisaway-thataway-theotherway, then allways-ed together seamlessly out of ITS universal free wheeling weaving - within yet beyond - its particular freeing weaving wheelings . And whatever I chose to choose (usually only one but maybe as many as three great little bits of whatever is present there, that I am relating to under the rattling-drumming-songing-dancing canopy-sailing-cup over-flowing diverse guises of understandable understanding image and symbol being-helpers pulsed in the moment) becomes the center point or points of the something or somethings new that I am co-re-creating beside Myself as dream, as dance, as song, as story.

Two centers draw out the line(s) and when three centers have formed the new life of-its-own begins and finishes birthing once-and-for-all and all-for-one and one-for-all in one huge tiny instantaneous eternal While-Zapping that I remember that I myself began in spirit-power but now know I would already be powerless to cancel, stop, or undo. This new birthing living dying life or world-in-itself interconnecting with interconnectings within Interconnecting is as universal as it is particular, as indivisible as it is divisible, but far more invisible than visble.

This is why I am awfully careful during the stages of exercising shamanic intention and attention - and shamanic choosing. Being(s) and stuff(s) in the shamanic-journeying directions, dimensions, realms, orders, and souls wherein and whereby I walk, ride, sail, and fly during shamanic adventuring double-triple-exponentially whirl and stick and stay on, within, and around whatever it IS that I chose to choose, that is and always is chosen forever and forever. And when I return to ordinary reality here it all comes with me, for better and for best (I keep hoping and dreaming) whether I chose what I chose awe-fully care-fully or otherwise.

Notice, this laugh-able dream-babbling is nothing new even though new things are always and all ways being co-re-created by shamanizers in this same or many similar complex and simple powerful unexplainable fun-flow-ways of flowing-firey spirit-matter any when and where. This is only another foolish paraphrasing I am re-collecting of several just as convoluting descriptions I spoke or wrote ineptly in ecstasy beside myself within several of our later earlier dream-meetings. But you may as well jot my wording transmitted 100,000,000 light-sounds/image down quickly and deliberately anyway, as soon as you awaken, exactly or not exactly as I just jestfully delivered it, for keeping and considering or sharing as you please."

Update: I did scribble down the above synesthetically delivered (as a series of flashes of images, colors, and sounds) dream message in darkness, still in a state of consciousness between non-ordinary and ordinary, as a hasty ad hoc shorthand of abbreviations, arrows, diagrams, and even a few weird pictograms. This preposterous record must have made perfect sense in those silly groggy moments - but not anymore. By now I suppose I have deciphered all I can.

When I read the paragraphs above I can still 'grok' the dream-teaching through much or even most is fading through in the transliterating. I studied the scribblings again this morning and changed or removed a few words in the paragraphs before giving up and letting this exercise be mostly for fun (as I was instructed).
